New Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in a press conference regarding the railway budget that Kavach system will be installed in 10 thousand engines to deal with rail accidents. 0.4 version of Kavach has been finalized all over India. He also said that 1 lakh 40 thousand people got jobs in the railways in the last one year. A total of 2 crore people had applied for these jobs. In the last 10 years, the railways gave jobs to more than 5 lakh people.

Budget of 2 lakh 62 thousand 200 crores

Ashwini Vaishnav said that the total budget of the railways is Rs 2 lakh 62 thousand 200 crores. In this, Rs 1 lakh 8 thousand crores have been allocated for safety. Railways has been given Rs 2 thousand 5 hundred 82 crores for Delhi. Rs 5 thousand 147 crores have been allocated for Punjab.

A budget of Rs 19,848 crore has been approved for Uttar Pradesh.

He said that Rs 3338 crore has been sanctioned for railways in Haryana. 100 percent electrification has been done here. Rs 2698 crore has been sanctioned for Himachal Pradesh. Work is being done here using Himalayan Tunneling Method (HTM). Rs 19848 crore has been sanctioned for Uttar Pradesh. 100 percent electrification has been done here too.

Railway’s special preparation for Kumbh

He told that 157 stations are being built under Amrit Bharat Station. Special preparations are being made for Kumbh. Work is being done on more than 40 projects. An action plan was made 3 years ago. Prayagraj station has been redeveloped. Special trains will be run for Kumbh. A joint command of railways will be formed.

Vande Bharat and Vande Metro in testing stage

He told that Vande Metro is in the testing stage. Similarly, the sleeper version of Vande Bharat has also come to the testing stage. After successfully passing the testing stage, these trains will soon start running on the tracks. Regarding railway catering and pantry, Ashwini Vaishnav said that a total of 100 new big kitchens are being built. This will speed up the catering service. At the same time, deep cleaning of pantry cars is being done in trains. An AI system has been created to monitor food hygiene.
