New Delhi. A major security operation against terrorism is going on in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 48 hours. Since Saturday evening, security forces have launched a large-scale operation against terrorists in many areas of Baramulla, Srinagar and Kishtwar districts. Four army soldiers have been injured in these encounters, out of which the condition of three is critical.

2 Para Special Force soldiers martyred in Kishtwar encounter

Indian Army’s 2 Para Special Force soldier Rakesh Kumar was martyred while three other soldiers were injured during an encounter in Chas area of ​​Kishtwar. According to security officials, in this encounter, army personnel surrounded the terrorists, and a group of three to four terrorists was also seen during the operation. The same group is accused of killing two local defense guards on Friday.

Encounter in Jabarwan Hills in Srinagar

The operation of security forces is also going on in Jabarwan hills adjacent to Nishat area of ​​Srinagar. At around 9 in the morning there was heavy firing and explosions, which lasted for 45 minutes. Security officials have confirmed the sighting of at least three armed terrorists in Ishbar village. However, there is no news of any casualty in this encounter. Two local citizens who were trekking in the area have been rescued safely by the police.

Large scale search operation in Sopore

An intensive search operation is also being conducted by the security forces in search of terrorists in Rampura of Sopore area of ​​Baramulla. According to security forces, two terrorists had managed to escape from here on Saturday night. During the operation so far, one unidentified terrorist has been killed and a huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered.

Third encounter in North Kashmir in 3 days

This is the third encounter in North Kashmir in the last three days. Earlier on Friday, a terrorist was killed in an encounter in Bandipora, while two Pakistani terrorists were killed in Sagipora area of ​​Sopore. Security officials say that due to increasing activities in the valley, this operation against terrorists will be further intensified.
