Mumbai The case of Hindi vs Marathi does not seem to be calm. Now a PIL has been filed in the Bombay High Court against MNS supremo Raj Thackeray on behalf of a lawyer named Ghanshyam Upadhyay. In the PIL, Raj Thackeray and MNS workers have been accused of inciting violence against Hindi speakers. It has also been said in the petition that Raj Thackeray and the people of his party are spreading hatred on the basis of language. In the petition filed in the Bombay High Court, a case has been sought to register a case against Raj Thackeray and MNS workers for this.
Raj Thackeray had earlier threatened the Devendra Fadnavis government of Maharashtra at a public meeting on Friday that if Hindi was implemented from first to fifth, he would not back down from closing schools. Raj Thackeray also asked the people of Maharashtra here to be cautious and thwart any attempt by the Maharashtra government to impose Hindi. MNS supremo Raj Thackeray said that when an attempt was made to impose Hindi earlier, we had closed shops. Then a similar effort is made, then we will not hesitate to close the schools. He said that it is unfortunate that CM of Maharashtra is trying to make Hindi mandatory.
Earlier, when Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray had led to the controversy of Hindi vs Marathi, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis withdrew orders to make Hindi language necessary in primary schools. CM Fadnavis had earlier said that the Maharashtra government will definitely implement the Trishag formula. He had said that the committee constituted in this regard would decide whether Hindi should be taught from first grade or it should be made necessary in schools from fifth grade.
