Paris Olympics 2024: A team of 117 athletes from India has arrived to participate in Paris Olympics 2024, in which the team participating in athletics events is the largest and after that athletes are participating from India in various shooting events, so more medals are also expected this time. However, on the very first day, India faced disappointment in 2 shooting events, in which apart from the qualification of the 10 meter air rifle mixed team event, the Indian shooters could not manage to secure their place for the final in the 10 meter air pistol men’s qualification event. On this disappointing performance, in a special conversation with India TV’s Sports Editor Sameep Rajguru, Indian shooting coach Suma Shirur told where the shooters went wrong.

There are still more events left, I am confident that we will do well

In her statement to India TV, Indian shooting coach Suma Shirur said after the disappointing performance in the mixed event that one of our teams had finished sixth in the qualification round and missed out on playing in the bronze medal playoff by just one point. Despite this, we have faith in our athletes that we will perform better in the events that are ahead. Today was the first day and the shooters also got to know about the pressure of the Olympics from which they have learned and now in the next events, they will learn from these mistakes and enter the events with full confidence.

Our main goal is to keep the shooters’ confidence in themselves

Suma Shirur said in her statement that now our full effort is to keep our shooters confident so that they do not carry the disappointment of today to any of the next events so that they can give their best performance in the next 2 days. The upcoming events are also very important for us. Our shooters have performed very well in the last 2 to 3 years and keeping that in mind, we should have faith in them.
