Cairo/Jerusalem The Israeli army has carried out another major airstrike in Gaza. Palestinian health officials said that at least 30 Palestinians were killed in this Israeli attack on a school in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. More than 100 people were injured. After the attack, the Israeli army said that it had targeted the Hamas command center. The Gaza Health Ministry and the Hamas-run government media office put the number of people killed in the attack on the school in Deir al-Balah at least at 30. The area where the attack took place is one of the most populated areas of displaced families.
The Israeli military said in a statement that it had targeted a “Hamas command and control center inside the Khadija school compound in central Gaza.” The Israeli military said the school was being used by Hamas militants to launch attacks against our troops and as a weapons storage facility. Civilians were warned before the attack. Ambulances in Deir al-Balah carried injured Palestinians to medical facilities at Al-Aqsa Hospital. Some of the injured arrived on foot, their clothes soaked in blood.
Israel blames Hamas
The Israeli army has blamed Hamas terrorists for the death of civilians. The army says that it had made the school a hideout of terror, so it was attacked. The Israeli army has accused Hamas of using densely populated areas, schools and hospitals as a cover. Hamas, on the other hand, has denied Israel’s allegations. Earlier on Saturday, Palestinian official media said that at least 14 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks since morning in the southern city of Khan Younis and their bodies were brought to the Nasser Medical Complex. A military statement said that the Israeli army asked Palestinians to temporarily vacate the southern areas of Khan Younis so that it could “act forcefully” there, and asked them to move to a humanitarian zone in Al-Mawasi.
