Muzaffarnagar. A ruckus broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district on Saturday evening when some Kanwariyas carrying water from Haridwar blocked the Meerut-Muzaffarnagar road alleging that their Kavad was broken. The Kanwariyas alleged that someone had put meat wrapped in a foil where they had hung their Kavad. This damaged their Kavad. On receiving information about the road jam, the senior officer immediately reached the spot with the police force. After several hours of hard work, he calmed down the matter by assuring action to the angry Shiva devotee Kanwariyas.
According to the information, the incident took place near the clock tower in Khatauli Kotwali area. Three Kawadis from Meerut had swung their Kawad there. The Kawadis allege that when they had gone to the canal to take a bath, someone had thrown meat wrapped in a foil under their Kawad. After that, the angry Shiva devotee Kawadis along with the local people created a ruckus accusing them of breaking the Kawad. On receiving the information, SP City Satyanarayan Prajapat reached there with the police force and controlled the situation.
Kavadis allege that meat was found lying in front of the Kavad
Kavadia Abhinav says that he has come from Majidpur Khurd. He was bringing water from Haridwar. He was staying here at Ghantaghar for 2 days. There was no problem. On Saturday, it was time for Aarti at Ghantaghar, so he went to the canal to take a bath. When he returned within 10 minutes, he found meat lying in front of the Kavad. He alleged that the administration is not cooperating. Now we will see what to do.
Police removed the suspicious polythene
City SP Satyanarayan Prajapat said that some Kawadias had come here with water from Haridwar. They had kept their water in their trolley on the roadside in Khatauli and went to the Alaknanda canal. When they returned, they saw a black suspicious polythene near their trolley. On that, these people said that it could possibly contain meat. The police immediately reached the spot and got that polythene removed.
It is not yet confirmed if there was any meat in the bag
Later it was checked but it is not confirmed yet whether there was any meat in it. The Kanwariyas say that their Kavad has been damaged by this. Angered by this, they blocked the road here. After persuasion, they have cleared the blockade from here. Traffic is moving on both sides. Whatever action is required as per the rules is being taken. As soon as any accused is identified, action will be taken immediately.
