Peshawar: At least 12 people were killed in two separate incidents in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police gave this information on Friday. The driver of a pickup truck lost control of the vehicle in the hilly area of Buner district due to brake failure, police said. After this the vehicle went out of control and slipped down the hill. Eight people of the same family, including five women and two children, died when the vehicle they were traveling in fell into a ditch. Police reached the incident site after receiving information.
Similarly, the second incident took place in tribal Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. There was an outcry due to the sudden collapse of a coal mine here. Four miners from the same family died in the mine collapse. Officials said the deceased miners were residents of Swat district. Many people are also said to be injured and have been taken to the hospital. There is a possibility that the death toll will increase further. There is a strong possibility that many workers may still be buried in the mine. Efforts are being made to find people. (Language)
