Istanbul: 174 people lost their lives in a cable car accident on a mountain in Turkey. Everyone remained hanging in the air for a long time. As soon as the information was received, there was panic among the Turkish officials. With the help of helicopter and high crane, people hanging in the air were brought down safely on Saturday. Let us tell you that last Friday, a trolley of this cable car collided with a pillar and broke open, due to which one person died. Seven others were injured.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the successful completion of the rescue operation on Saturday afternoon. Officials said that 607 search and rescue personnel and 10 helicopters were deployed in this rescue operation. According to him, Turkey’s emergency response agency AFAD, Coast Guard team, fire brigade and mountain rescue teams from different parts of the country were also involved in the operation. The accident happened at around 5:30 pm on Friday in the Tunçtepe cable car outside Antalya city.
Rescue done with the help of 10 helicopters
People in the cable car were rescued with the help of 10 helicopters. After several hours of rescue operations, the people hanging in the air were brought down. According to the news of news agency ‘Anadolu’, the person who lost his life in this accident has been identified as a 54-year-old citizen of Turkey. According to the news, the injured included six Turkish and one Kyrgyz national. These also include two children. They were rescued by Coast Guard helicopters. (AP)
