Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces have arrested three hybrid terrorists of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Sopore, Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on a specific input regarding the movement of terrorists, a special post was set up by Police, Army’s 22 RR and CRPF near Sunwani Bridge, Vadura Bala, police said.
Police said, “During investigation, the joint team stopped three men coming from Vadura Bala towards Sunwani bridge, who on seeing the joint Naka team tried to flee from the spot, but were cleverly apprehended.”
They have been identified as Tufail Majeed Mir, a resident of Brathkalan, Owais Ahmad Mir, a resident of Brathkalan, and Shabbir Ahmed Wage, a resident of Warpora.
Arms and ammunition including three pistols, three pistol magazines, 22 pistol rounds, one grenade and Rs 79,800 in cash were recovered from them, including incriminating material belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested persons are hybrid terrorists of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and were constantly on the lookout for opportunities to carry out attacks on the security forces as well as civilians,” the police said.
Case has been registered and investigation has been started.
