Chennai. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned his strong relationship with Tamil Nadu in an interview given to a TV news channel. Not only this, PM Modi also remembered his participation in the ‘Ekta Yatra’ started by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.
Let us tell you that Narendra Modi was also the organizer of this yatra. Meanwhile, some old photos related to this visit of PM Modi are going viral on social media. An unseen photo of BJP’s ‘Ekta Yatra’ has been shared on the Modi ArchiveX handle.
It was told in this post that at the beginning of an Ekta Yatra from Kanyakumari, Narendra Modi, the then BJP President Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, apart from the great freedom fighter Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Rajguru’s brother Rajinder Singh and Devkinandan, son of Param Vir Chakra awardee constable Abdul Hameed. Zubaid Ahmed and Ali Hasan were present.
Along with this, senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani is also seen in the picture. It is clearly visible in the picture that for the beginning of this Ekta Yatra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Rajguru’s brother Rajinder Singh and Devkinandan, Param Vir Chakra awarded constable Abdul Hameed’s son Zubaid Ahmed and Ali Hasan were present there along with Narendra Modi, Lal Krishna Advani and Murali. The national flag tricolor was handed over to Manohar Joshi.
This flag accompanied the Ekta Yatra starting from Kanyakumari and then at the end of the yatra, it was hoisted at Lal Chowk in Kashmir on 26 January 1992. Let us tell you that ‘Ekta Yatra’ was started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu in December 1991. At that time Narendra Modi was just a worker of Bharatiya Janata Party. He symbolically brought soil from Tamil Nadu and other states to unite India through Ekta Yatra. His historic visit ended with the hoisting of the Indian flag in Kashmir on 26 January 1992.
Narendra Modi and veteran leader Murli Manohar Joshi hoisted the national flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. BJP’s ‘Ekta Yatra’, which lasted for 45 days, passed through 14 states and ended with the symbolic act of hoisting the national flag at Lal Chowk, Srinagar on 26 January 1992.
