The attitude of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti has changed nowadays. Uma Bharti has suddenly become very active in Madhya Pradesh. Continuous meeting with people, campaign against liquor ban and sabotage in liquor shops. Madhya Pradesh is largely the center of his political activities. It is being speculated that Uma may stake claim from Madhya Pradesh in the 2023 Vidhansa or 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
has given itself
Uma Bharti herself has also indicated to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Madhya Pradesh in 2024. According to the Times of India, however, from where she will contest this election has not been disclosed. Significantly, Uma was elected to the Lok Sabha from Khajuraho four times from 1989 to 1998. After this, Uma represented Bhopal from 1999 till she became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in December 2023. In 2014, Uma Bharti won the election from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
Will have to find new seat
Talking about the present, BJP state president VD Sharma is currently representing from Khajuraho seat. Pragya Singh Thakur is the MP from Bhopal. Anurag Sharma is a BJP MP from Jhansi seat. In such a situation, if Uma Bharti has to contest the elections, then she will have to find a new seat for herself. Recently, during a program in Chhatarpur, Uma said that when I had refused to contest elections in 2019, only then I had said that I would contest in 2024. He had also said that it is a matter of happiness for me that I form the government and someone else runs it.
In 2004, therefore, had to step down from the post of CM.
In 2003, Uma Bharti gave the BJP a majority in Madhya Pradesh by giving a tough fight to the Congress. After this she took oath as the Chief Minister, but could not stay in this post for more than eight months. In August 2004, a court in Hubballi, Karnataka issued orders for Uma. The case pertains to the 1994 Independence Day riots, in which five people were killed. After this, Uma resigned from the post of Chief Minister and the senior-most MLA Babulal Gaur took over the throne of Madhya Pradesh. Since then, till date, Uma has not got a chance to return to the post of CM.
Such has been the coming and going of Uma
Another incident happened in the year 2004 itself, which reduced Uma’s stature within the BJP. In November 2004, he was expelled from the BJP for openly speaking against senior party leader LK Advani. A year later, in November 2005, the party reversed the decision. But during this time Uma revolted against the decision to make Shivraj the Chief Minister. A month later, he was also removed from the primary membership of the party. Six years later, the then BJP President Nitin Gadkari brought him back to the party. However, then he has been kept mostly away from the politics of Madhya Pradesh.
