According to an India Today report, there will be no restriction on the movement of vehicles in the state between 11 pm and 5 am. Earlier in the day, the Maharashtra government also announced the lifting of the COVID restrictions on Thursday. After more than two years, restrictions related to the pandemic are being lifted.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope told reporters that this decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Tope said, from Gudi Padwa (Marathi New Year which will be on April 2 this time) all restrictions related to COVID-19 imposed under the Epidemic Act and the Disaster Management Act will be lifted. He said that it will not be necessary to apply masks from April 2.
