Ranchi. Five MLAs have formed a new political front in Jharkhand. It has been named as Jharkhand Democratic Front. These include Sudesh Mahto and Lambodar Mahto of AJSU (All Jharkhand Students Union) party, Kamlesh Singh of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) besides two independent MLAs Saryu Rai and Amit Yadav. The formation of this front was announced on Friday in the Jharkhand Assembly complex. The five MLAs said that they would be part of this front inside and outside the House. The leader of the front has been elected AJSU party president Sudesh Mahto.
Talking to the media in the assembly premises, Sudesh Mahto said that they are duly informing the speaker about the formation of the front. They will be urged that the Front should be recognized within the House. Independent MLA Saryu Rai said that we have realized that due to lack of numbers, we do not get enough time in the Vidhan Sabha to express our views on important and burning issues of the state. According to the rules of the Legislative Assembly, time is allotted to different parties in proportion to their strength for participation in debates and discussions. Being part of the front will give us more time and we will be able to articulate our points more effectively.
NCP’s Kamlesh Singh and independent Amit Mahto, who are involved in the front, said that it will be our endeavor that outside the house also we can effectively create a barricade on the issues related to the state interest.
Will this front come jointly in the upcoming elections as well? On this question, Sudesh Mahto said that time will tell. It is certain that this front has been created to give edge to politics on issues.
