Arvind Kejriwal attacked the opposition’s demand for tax-free film Kashmir Files. He said that a film director is earning crores and BJP people are putting up posters. If everyone wants to show the film, then ask the director to put it on YouTube, everyone will be able to watch it for free. What is the need for tax exemption? But crores are being earned in the name of Kashmiri Pandits. Kejriwal said that I appeal to all BJP leaders and their supporters to think with their mind.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on one hand refused to make The Kashmir Files tax free and on the other raised questions on BJP leaders regarding the promotion of this film. He asked BJP leaders whether they had come to politics to do the same. However, Arvind Kejriwal’s speech in the assembly was over when he started being trolled on social media. Social media users enumerated the list of films that were made tax free by the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi in the last few years. Not only this, every time Arvind Kejriwal praised which film and appealed to the people to watch it, it is also being counted. People are questioning that when he can make other films tax free, then what is the problem in making The Kashmiri Files tax free?
Delhi government made these films tax free
The Kejriwal government made the film ’83’ tax free in December 2021. Ranveer Singh’s film is based on India’s victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. In October 2019, Arvind Kejriwal made Taapsee Pannu’s film ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ tax free. In 2016, Swara Bhaskar’s film ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ was also declared tax free.
Which films were ‘promoted’ by Kejriwal?
