What is the trend of last years?
If we look at the trend of past years, we will find that there is no direct relation between heat and companies’ income. It is not necessary that the income of these companies also increases significantly due to increase in heat. Between 1992 and 2002, India experienced extreme heat thrice. But during that period Voltas’ income had increased by only 3.7 percent. At the same time, there was severe heat in the years 2016, 2017 and 2020, but the sales growth was less than 10 percent. Even in the scorching heat of 2022, the sales growth of Havells, Symphony and Voltas was only 25 to 30 percent.
