New Delhi. In the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, a big decision was taken to prevent road accidents. In the meeting, a stamp has been given to set up Automated Testing Stations (ATS) in every district of the state to check the fitness of vehicles. For this, the state government will spend Rs 500 crore. It was decided in the cabinet meeting that now the fitness check of vehicles will not be done manually but by machines. It will be implemented compulsorily. For this, automated testing stations will be set up in every district of the state. ATS will be set up in every district on PPP mode.
For this, the state government will spend Rs 500 crore. In the first phase, one ATS will be set up in every district of the state except the Automated Testing Stations run under the state government. All the stations will be established in every district of the state in a year. It is to be known that the state government’s automated testing stations are proposed in Lucknow, Kanpur and Agra. At the same time, the number of these stations can also be increased if required in future.
Testing will speed up
It was informed in the meeting that with the establishment of automated testing stations in every district, the means of employment would also be available to the youth of the state. This will create more than 1500 direct employment opportunities. With the establishment of stations, while road accidents in the state will come down on one hand, the process of testing vehicles will also be accelerated. Along with this, with transparency in testing, the possibility of irregularities will also be reduced.
