Some Hindu temples vandalized during Durga Puja celebrations in Bangladesh
There are reports of atrocities on Hindus from our neighboring countries. Minority Hindus are harassed especially in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Once again the incident of atrocities on the Hindu minority community in Bangladesh has come to the fore. In fact, religious places of Hindus have been targeted by the Muslim community in Bangladesh. According to the information, some Hindu temples were vandalized during Durga Puja celebrations in Bangladesh. In the tension that followed, three people were killed and several people were injured. The atmosphere deteriorated so much that the government had to deploy paramilitary forces in 22 districts.
Let us tell you that Durga Puja is a holy festival of Hindus. Nine forms of Maa Durga are worshiped on Navratri. But, this vibrant festival has been marred by violence and vandalism for the Hindu minority community of Bangladesh. Minority Hindus were vandalized by the Islamic community after a fake post went viral on Facebook. Violent clashes broke out between the two communities after a post in Kumila, about a hundred kilometers from the capital Dhaka, caused considerable damage, after which the administration and police tried to pacify the matter. According to the information received, incidents of vandalism in Hindu temples have also been reported in Hajiganj, Chattogram and Koksbazar of Chandpur. Temples were brutally attacked and Hindu devotees beaten up in Hajiganj in Chandpur, Banshkhali in Chattogram, Shibganj in Chapainwabganj and Pekua in Cox’s Bazar. Three Hindus have reportedly been killed in this violent clash. However, the police have not yet confirmed this.

Let us tell you that many local Hindu and Hindu organizations have shared the scenes of this Islamic vandalism on Twitter about the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The government had deployed Bangladesh Police Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Bangladesh’s paramilitary border guard to maintain peace. According to the information received, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an emergency notification requesting the people to maintain peace. The call for communal harmony and peace was reiterated in the notice.
