Before the start of Chardham Yatra on May 10, more than 15 lakh devotees have already registered themselves and the Uttarakhand government is hopeful that this time the Yatra will break its last year’s record of influx of 56.31 lakh devotees. The doors of Kedarnath are going to open on 10th May and Badrinath on 12th May. The earnings of Badri-Kedar Temple Committee have crossed Rs 1 crore even before the start of the Yatra.
Actually, this committee has made arrangements for online puja for the first time. Online booking for puja has also started even before the journey. Last year, the temple committee had earned Rs 1.5 crore by conducting special pujas during the entire yatra, but this year, so far online bookings worth Rs 1 crore 20 lakh have been made.

There is happiness among the people of the committee due to the continuously increasing income. While the income of the committee has crossed the figure of one crore in 7 days due to online puja system, now this figure is expected to increase more in the entire season.
State Tourism and Endowments Minister Satpal Maharaj said that seeing the way a large number of pilgrims are registering themselves for Chardham and Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, it seems that this time too the Chardham Yatra will break its previous records. He told that last year 56.31 lakh devotees had come to visit the Dhams of the state, which was a record.
The minister said that apart from this, booking of devotees is also going on for the guest houses of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam located on the yatra routes. This year Char Dham Yatra is to start on 10th May and the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath will open on the first day. The doors of Badrinath will open on 12th May.
