New Delhi: A big news related to the farmers’ movement has come to light. There will be a meeting between farmers and government in Chandigarh at 5 pm on Thursday. Farmers have received a letter from the Central Government inviting talks. After the letter and positive statement of Anurag Thakur, farmer leaders have agreed to the third round of meeting.
3 Union Ministers will attend the meeting
Farmer leaders said that the central government officials have assured that the situation prevailing at the Shambhu border will be normalized. Farmer leaders said that Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Nityanand Rai and Arjun Munda will be present in the meeting to be held in Chandigarh on Thursday.
What did farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher say?
He said that we came to know about Anurag Thakur’s statement, after that we talked to both our farmer leaders at the forum and took the mandate that if the government wants to talk, then we should talk. But the kind of police action that was taking place made us feel that the central government did not want to talk to us. The way we were being shelled with drones. For this reason we were not ready to talk.
He said that Punjab Police officers took us forward to talk to the Haryana government regarding shelling, but during that time rubber bullets were fired targeting farmer leaders. For this reason we are saying that the attitude of the Central Government is not right. When we are saying that we will sit peacefully and will not move forward, then the Central Government should not shelling us. The central government is trying to provoke us.
He said that now Haryana Police is not shelling and firing on us but paramilitary forces have been deployed. Paramilitary forces are deployed in the country only when there is an emergency. The farmers who are supporting us in UP are being arrested. But even in such circumstances we will not stop talks. We don’t want confrontation. We will sit peacefully at Shambhu border tomorrow also. We request the Prime Minister that when farmers are sitting peacefully, paramilitary forces should not shell them.
He said that until the meeting is held, nothing will come out of it. We will not move forward. Our farmers will sit and wait at the Shambhu border. Going to Delhi is not a question of prestige for us. Only if there is a positive attitude towards our demands in the meeting, we will make further strategies.
