The Bharatiya Janata Party can give a big blow to the Congress before the Gujarat Assembly elections. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s advisor has claimed that the BJP is trying to woo Congress MLAs in Gujarat. He told that this information has also been given to the Congress leadership. Assembly elections can be held in Gujarat by the end of this year.
MLA from Sirohi seat Sanyam Lodha tweeted on Friday. In which he asked the Congress to be cautious. He had written, ‘Gujarat assembly elections 2022, BJP is putting strings on ten Congress MLAs. Stay healthy, be alert. He also tagged Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the tweet.
According to media reports, Lodha said, ‘I have warned the Congress. I have come to know about it and hence I have informed the party. I told Raghu Sharma 20 days ago… there was no response from his side, so I tagged the party high command to alert.’ He said, ‘If you stay asleep, it is bound to happen. We are anti-BJP and it is our responsibility to express concern.
Even before the Rajya Sabha elections held in Gujarat in the year 2020, 8 Congress MLAs had resigned and later joined the BJP. Recently 5 former Congress MLAs have joined BJP. At present, the strength of Congress MLAs in the state is 65.
