Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann approved the recruitment of 25,000 posts in the very first meeting of the cabinet on Saturday. After the meeting, Chief Minister Mann said in a video message that the process of advertisement and notification for these jobs would start within a month. The government will also fulfill the remaining election promises in the coming days, he said.
Mann said that out of these 25,000 posts, 10 thousand posts in the police department will be filled in different government departments, boards and corporations. Jobs will be given on the basis of merit. There will be no discrimination, no recommendation will work. Earlier, on Saturday, 10 MLAs, including a woman member, were inducted into the Mann-led cabinet. The Cabinet also gave its approval for the presentation of Supplementary Demands for Grants for the year 2021-22 in the upcoming session of the Vidhan Sabha.
