The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday alleged that the Congress and other opposition parties do “vulture politics” over dead bodies and they only want to disturb the harmony in the society. The BJP issued a statement late last night in response to the joint statement of the opposition parties on the recent incidents of hate speech and communal violence in the country. The opposition had also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his “silence”.
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia likened the opposition’s attack on Prime Minister Modi to throwing mud at the sky. Bhatia questioned the Congress President over the Karauli violence in Rajasthan and alleged that due to his party’s politics of appeasement, action was not being taken against the rioters. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi is standing with the rioters and tries to instigate the situation. Along with this, he also raised questions on silence.
Anurag Thakur condemns Congress over Karauli violence
Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday condemned the Congress’s silence on the Karauli violence and said they sowed the seeds of hatred and focused only on hiding inefficiencies. Thakur said that not only Karauli but many such incidents have happened, but Congress is silent on these issues. They need introspection. The mandate of the people has rejected the Congress many times.
Taking a political jibe at the opposition leaders, the Union Minister said that the opposition is engaged in making baseless allegations. He said that during the Congress government, no action was taken against the miscreants, Mamata Banerjee’s tenure was full of murders, rapes and violence. Simply because they cannot work efficiently in their respective states, they make baseless allegations.
