Chhindwara. Ruling party chief JP Nadda said in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh that BJP is not against caste census, but Congress wants to try to divide the society. Nadda stressed that the focus of the PM Narendra Modi government is on ‘Gyaan’ or empowerment of the poor, youth, Annadata-farmers and Nari Shakti (poor, youth, farmers and women), whose progress is crucial for the development of the nation. He said, ‘We are not against conducting caste census, but Congress wants to try to divide the people. Opposition parties are upset because PM Modi has changed the way of doing politics in the country. Earlier, it was based on caste, religion, region etc. Congress pitted brother against brother.
BJP President Nadda further said that ‘development politics has come to the center stage under Modi’s rule. People want to be associated with development. Politics is no longer based on vote bank and appeasement but on your report card and ability to discharge responsibilities. He said that Modi has taken bold decisions like abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and implementation of ‘One Rank One Pension’ (OROP) for the welfare of ex-servicemen. Nadda said that before 2014 the country was plagued with corruption, but now ‘India is not a pleading nation but a leading nation.’
Praising the Modi government, Nadda said that ‘India is now the fifth largest economy in the world, bigger than the United Kingdom, which once ruled the country. In Modi’s third term, India’s economy will reach third place by 2027. Electronics exports have increased six times, pharmaceutical exports have increased by 138 percent and petrochemical exports have increased by 108 percent. Fourteen medical colleges are being established in Madhya Pradesh. Ladli Brahmin Yojana of the state government is empowering women. Modi government passed the Women’s Reservation Bill. The next elections will be conducted under the provisions of the new Act.
Nadda said that on the other hand, the Congress-led Indi alliance has come together to save the corrupt and their own families. Chhindwara, the stronghold of senior Congress leader Kamal Nath, is the only seat won by the opposition party in Madhya Pradesh in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The remaining 28 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. This time, sitting MP Nakul Nath is contesting against BJP’s Vivek Bunty Sahu.
