British Prime Minister Boris Johnson suddenly reached Ukraine facing Russian attack. During his surprise visit, he was seen walking the streets of Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In a more than two-minute-long video shared by the Ukrainian government, the two leaders can be seen roaming the streets amid snipers and other security. The two greet passersby on their way to Maidan Square from Kyiv’s main Kreshchatyk street.
One of the passers-by looked emotional upon seeing the British leader in the Ukrainian capital. She said, “We need you.” Johnson responded to that too. The British PM said, “Nice to meet you. We are privileged to help. You have a good President Mr. Zelensky.”

It was the first visit by a G-7 leader since Russia launched an offensive on 24 February. The British Prime Minister has promised 120 armored vehicles and new anti-ship missile systems. They have also confirmed an additional $500 million in World Bank loans. This brings the UK’s total credit guarantee to $1 billion.
Let us tell you that millions of Ukrainians have been displaced by this Russian invasion. Despite the superior military power, Russia has faced major setbacks in its attempt to capture Ukraine and overthrow the Zelensky government. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently acknowledged the loss in the war against Ukraine in his most disappointing assessment ever.
Johnson said Ukraine had achieved the biggest achievement by pushing the Russian army through the gates of Kyiv. He credits Zelensky’s resolute leadership and unstoppable valor and courage of the Ukrainian people to thwart Russian designs.
