New Delhi: BRS leader’s poetry has received a big blow from the court. Rouse Avenue Court has rejected the bail plea of BRS leader Kavita arrested in Delhi Liquor Policy. ED and CBI had opposed the bail plea of K Kavita.
Accused of giving bribe of about Rs 100 crore to AAP
ED had thoroughly interrogated K Kavita in the Delhi liquor scam. According to reports, when Kavita appeared before the ED, she was confronted with the statements of Hyderabad-based businessman and accused in the case, Arun Ramachandran Pillai, who reportedly has close relations with her.
According to the ED, Pillai represented ‘South Group’, an alleged liquor cartel linked to Kavitha and others, which had almost bribed AAP to get a larger share in the market under the now-expired Delhi Excise Policy for 2020-21. A bribe of Rs 100 crore was given.
Kavita used ten phones
Of. Kavita used at least ten phones in 2021 and 2022. It is suspected that this was done to destroy digital evidence and derail the investigation. According to the ED, she was an active participant in the scam and had explained how to do business by giving bribes to her associates Arun Pillai, Babu and others.
BRS leader K Kavita is the daughter of former CM KCR. ED had raided his Hyderabad residence. After her arrest, Kavita was brought to Delhi. It is noteworthy that Delhi CM Kejriwal is also lodged in Tihar Jail in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. Aam Aadmi Party is on the target of opponents on Delhi Liquor Policy issue and its leaders are seen on the backfoot. However, AAP leaders have consistently denied any involvement of the party in this scam.
