New Delhi. The problems faced by people due to ever increasing fraud and spam calls are now going to be curbed. Telecom regulator TRAI has made a new proposal in view of the problems of the people. According to this proposal, now with every call the real name of the caller will be displayed on the phone. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI has given information about this proposal late evening on Friday. This proposal has been named Introduction of Calling Name Presentation (CNP). TRAI had given suggestions to the Department of Telecommunications regarding CNP network. The regulator said that the Department of Telecommunications itself had sought suggestions in this regard, after which TRAI has proposed this name CNP before the department.
Telecom Department asked for suggestions
Let us tell you that the Department of Telecommunications i.e. DOT had sought suggestions from TRAI in the month of March 2022 itself. After which the regulator had issued a consultation paper regarding CNP services in November 2022 and sought comments from all concerned parties. After all these processes, TRAI has now prepared its suggestion.
Caller ID feature will be like this
As per TRAI’s suggestion, Caller ID feature will be the default for domestic telecommunication networks. Meaning, with every call the true identity of the caller will be revealed. According to TRAI, this can be a supplementary service which can be provided on the customers’ phones on their request. In such a situation, if these proposals of TRAI are implemented then soon the real name of the caller will be visible on your mobile along with the call. The name which will be in the ID while taking the number will also be visible along with the number. Through this, people will definitely get freedom from fake and spam calls.
