India Wipro, a leading information technology company, said on Saturday that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thierry Delaporte has resigned. The company said that Srinivas Pallia has been made the new CEO in his place. His appointment is effective from April 7 for five years. Wipro’s board considered Delaporte’s resignation on April 6, 2024, and he will be relieved of the company’s duties on May 31, 2024, the company told the stock exchange. Wipro said that for the appointment of Palliya, necessary approvals have to be taken from the shareholders and the central government.
Rishad Premji expressed gratitude for Delaporte’s service
Thierry Delaporte is leaving his post after leading a significant transformation at Wipro for the last four years, the company said. Srinivas Palliya will take over as CEO and Managing Director from April 7. Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji said he is grateful to Thierry for his leadership at Wipro. The changes he has implemented have placed the future of the company in a better position. Delaporte joined Wipro on 6 July 2020.
Who is Srinivas Palliya?
Wipro’s new CEO Srinivas Palliya was earlier the CEO of the company’s America 1 area. He will take over as the new CEO and MD of Wipro for 5 years from April 7. Srinivas Palliya joined Wipro in the year 1992. Srinivas has held several leadership positions, including President of Wipro’s Consumer Business Unit and Global Head of Business Applications Services.

The 52 week high of this share is Rs 546.10. Whereas, 52 week low is Rs 351.85. The market cap of the company on BSE closed at Rs 2,53,523.71 crore on Friday.
