Dehradun. The world famous Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand is going to start formally from 10th May. There is more enthusiasm among the devotees regarding this year’s Chardham Yatra. This time online registrations for Chardham Yatra have started from 15th April. So far 16.37 lakh passengers have registered.
The big thing is that this time the registrations for Chardham Yatra till the month of May have been completed. Heli service and hotels are also completely full. Apart from this, this time the government has decided to provide stall facility along with token system for the devotees during Chardham Yatra.
Previous record of Chardham Yatra may be broken
State Tourism and Endowments Minister Satpal Maharaj said that seeing the way a large number of pilgrims are registering themselves for Chardham and Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, it seems that this time too the Chardham Yatra will break its previous records. He told that last year 56.31 lakh devotees had come to visit the Dhams of the state, which was a record.

So far, 2,72,506 pilgrims have registered for Yamunotri Dham, 3,03,505 for Gangotri, 5,77,241 for Kedarnath Dham and 4,83,879 for Badrinath Dham in Char Dham Yatra. Till May 28, a total of 16,37,131 pilgrims have registered themselves for the Chardham Yatra. At the same time, 27,261 pilgrims have so far registered themselves for Hemkund Sahib.

The doors of Badrinath will open on 12th May
This year Char Dham Yatra is to start on 10th May and the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath will open on the first day. The doors of Badrinath will open on 12th May.
Maharaj told that the system of tokens and ‘slots’ has been started in the Chardham Yatra so that the pilgrims do not have to wait in long queues during the Dev Darshan. He said that once this system is implemented, no passenger will have to wait in the queue for more than an hour.
