Konchok Stanzin, a local councilor from Ladakh, said on Sunday that China has installed three mobile towers in a hot spring, near the Line of Actual Control. The councilor of Chushul tweeted, “After building a bridge over Pangong Lake, China has built three mobile towers in Hot Spring. This area is very close to India. Is this not a matter of concern? We do not have 4G facility even in the villages where people live. 11 villages in my area are outside the 4G network service.
India had in January strongly objected to China’s construction of a bridge over Pangong Lake, saying it was monitoring the situation.
Then Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi had said that China is building a bridge in the area which it has occupied for the last 60 years. India has never accepted this occupation.
This bridge connects the northern and southern banks of the lake, which will allow easy movement of the Chinese army.
