New Delhi: The cyclone caused devastation in West Bengal, affecting hundreds of people. Jalpaiguri district of the state suffered a lot of damage due to the cyclone. Hundreds of people were hit by the storm, out of which more than 100 were injured. Many people have lost their lives. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital to meet the injured.
Speaking to ANE, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, ‘The administration has to stand with the needy people. We are aware of the loss. Losing people is the biggest loss. I want to thank the administration for its disaster management efforts. Doctors, nurses and hospital staff are doing a good job to keep the situation under control. The rescue operation has ended.

Mamta Banerjee had canceled many of her programs and reached Jalpaiguri. Some people lost their lives in the cyclone and hailstorm caused serious injuries to pedestrians who were quickly taken to hospital. Let us tell you that the storm in North Bengal has caused huge damage to many houses and trees. Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to Platform X and expressed his concern over the situation of Bengali. He said, ‘My condolences to the people affected by the storm in West Bengal.’
