CNG prices were increased for the second consecutive day on Thursday in the national capital. The price of CNG has been increased by Rs 2.50 per kg, with which the prices have increased by Rs 12.50 per kg since March.
According to the information given on the website of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the price of CNG in the National Capital Region (NCT) has increased from Rs 66.61 per kg to Rs 69.11 per kg. IGL retails CNG and Piped LPG (PNG) in the national capital and adjoining areas.
On Wednesday also, the price of CNG was increased by Rs 2.50 per kg. There has been no change in the rates of Piped LPG (PNG). Its price in Delhi is Rs 41.61 per unit. Since March, the price of CNG in Delhi has been increased by 12.48 per kg.
Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) raised the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) in Mumbai by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 67 per kg, while Gujarat Gas increased the rates by Rs 6.50 per kg to Rs 76.98. Prices vary from city to city due to local taxes such as value-added tax (VAT).
The government has more than doubled natural gas prices to $6.1 per million British thermal unit (per unit) with effect from April 1. After this the prices of CNG and PNG have increased. This increase in CNG prices comes after petrol and diesel prices were increased by Rs 10 per liter and LPG rates by Rs 50 per cylinder in the last 16 days.
