new Delhi. Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil on Friday urged the Center to bring back the body of a Gujarati fisherman who had died in a Pakistani jail about a month and a half ago. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, he said that the fisherman was arrested by Pakistani security personnel from the seashore. Despite serving a prison sentence, he was not released. Recently it was revealed that he died due to unknown reasons.
A total of 580 fishermen from Gujarat are lodged in Pakistani jails and many of them are still in jail despite completing their three-month sentence.
During Zero Hour, AAP member Sanjay Singh raised the issue of insurance companies duping consumers and explained how the government is turning a blind eye to it.
He demanded that the survey of compensation should be done in a fair manner.
“Insurance companies, in connivance with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), fix the appointment of surveyors and cheat the consumers,” he said.
