Corona Updates: Corona cases are decreasing continuously in the country, but it does not mean that corona is over. While the number of active cases of corona worldwide is still more than 6 crore 18 lakhs. By the way, in the last two weeks, there has been a decline in corona cases across the world. If we talk about countries, then Germany has the highest number of cases, followed by Russia or South Korea. At the same time, cases are increasing in South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and New Zealand.
Vaccine saved lives
The Health Ministry said that since January this year, the share of people without vaccination is 92 percent of all the people who have died due to COVID-19. NITI Aayog member Dr VK Pal said during a press briefing on Thursday that in 2022, 92 per cent of the deaths occurred in the non-vaccinated population. According to them, vaccines and large-scale vaccination coverage have contributed significantly in saving lives of people from coronavirus. Along with this, the vaccine also saved the country from the increase in the number of COVID cases and the situation of outbreak. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Director General Dr Balram Bhargava said that the first dose of the vaccine is 98.9% effective in fighting COVID and if both doses are taken then it becomes 99.3% effective.

Current status of corona in the country
If we talk about India, then there has been a 55.7 percent reduction in corona cases in the country. The death rate has come down by 76.6 percent in India, while it is 22.8 percent in the world. That is, the situation in India is getting better very fast. He told that during the second wave, only 2.1% of the population had got the corona vaccine. During the third wave, 97 percent people took the first dose and 82 percent people took both the doses.

There has also been a significant decline in the cases of corona deaths in India. Between February 2 and February 8, there were an average of 615 deaths, this number has come down to 144 last week. At present, Kerala and Maharashtra account for 50 percent of the total number of cases in the country.
