There has been a rapid jump in the cases of corona virus in Delhi for the last few days. On Saturday also, there has been an increase in new cases. In the last 24 hours, 461 new cases of corona virus were found in the capital. Apart from this, two patients have also died due to infection. At the same time, 269 patients have recovered. The positivity rate in the capital has now reached above 5 percent.
According to the information received by the Delhi government, the corona positivity rate in the capital has now reached 5.33 percent. In the last 24 hours, a total of 8646 samples were tested in Delhi in which 461 positive cases were found. With this, the number of active cases of corona virus in Delhi has now reached 1262.

With the increase in the cases of corona virus, the number of containment zones in Delhi has now reached 652 till Saturday. On Saturday, 26 percent more cases have been reported in Delhi than on Friday. On Friday, 366 new cases were reported in Delhi. At the same time, the positivity rate was 3.95 percent.
In view of the increase in the cases of COVID, the district administrations have increased surveillance and they are on alert to trace the people infected with the disease. Some districts have also planned to conduct awareness campaigns from next week.
Amid the threat of a new variant of the corona virus, around 300 samples taken from people recently found infected with COVID-19 in Delhi have been sent for genome sequencing. Genome sequencing is done to find out whether a new variant like ‘XE’ has spread in the city or not.
