new Delhi . The process of Central University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission to central universities will now start from April 6. Earlier this process was to be started from April 2. According to the National Testing Agency, the applications for CUET will start from April 6 and continue till May 6. Earlier the last date of application was fixed as 30 April, however now it has also been extended. Only through the Common Entrance Test will now be able to get admission in the undergraduate courses of the colleges and departments belonging to the Central University. Students interested to enroll can fill this form online. While filling the form, students have to keep certain rules in mind.
There is no age limit to apply for CUET exam. However, educational qualification has been prescribed for this. Candidates willing to register for CUET must have passed Intermediate from any recognized board. Here also the National Testing Agency has provided relaxation to some students. Under this relaxation, those students can also apply for CUET, who have to appear in class 12th examination this year.
However, the students who have appeared in the 12th examination will have to attach the 12th mark sheet. At the same time, all the students filling all the forms will have to upload their passport size photograph, an ID proof and scanned signature, along with the form. According to the UGC, this exam for admission to undergraduate courses will be conducted in the first week of July 2022.
The exam pattern for these exams has been kept in such a way that there will be multiple choice questions (MCQs). This exam will be conducted in two shifts.
The form for Central University Entrance Test will be available for admission in various central universities from April 6. The admission process for undergraduate courses in central universities has also changed. Now the 12th marks will not hold any special significance for admission to the undergraduate courses in the colleges affiliated to the central university. Till now admissions in colleges have been done on the basis of 12th merit. But now students will go through the process of entrance test, for which it will be mandatory to fill this form.
Many educationists across the country believe that the Central University Entrance Test for undergraduate courses is going to bring a big change in the lives of the students. Especially such school students who are currently studying in class 12th.
According to the UGC, the biggest advantage of the Common Entrance Test is that on the basis of performance in the Common Entrance Test, admission to central universities will be given. These exams will be conducted by the National Testing Agency and will be in 13 languages- English, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Punjabi, Urdu and English. With this, equal opportunities will be available to the students of all regions and sections.
