It is being told that most of the leaders of Delhi BJP are in favor of merging the three municipal corporations of Delhi into one. A decision on this can be taken after Amit Shah’s meeting with Delhi BJP leaders on March 12. Various arguments are also being given in its favor, but the opposition alleges that through this BJP wants to create a new character equal to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Actually, Amit Shah’s team has failed to defeat the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi Assembly elections even after working hard. In the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP had to face heavy defeat at the hands of Kejriwal twice in a row. Delhi BJP leaders believe that if the three municipal corporations are not integrated, then this time it will be difficult for the party to return to the power of the municipal corporation. The BJP has come to the power of the corporation for three consecutive times with an absolute majority, but this time the situation has become very difficult for it.
Delhi BJP leaders believe that many obstacles were created by the Delhi government in running the municipal corporation. If funds were not released on time, there were delays in approving many schemes. Due to non-release of funds on time, it became difficult to pay salaries to teachers, sanitation workers. This increased distrust of the BJP among the public unaware of the administrative nuances. But if all the three municipal corporations are integrated, then this type of problem will not arise. With only one commissioner, the plans and files can be moved faster, which will accelerate development and benefit the party.
BJP leaders believe that with this, a better option will be created in front of Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the level of Delhi and by doing better work, the credibility of the party will be improved among the public, but due to the impediments of the Delhi government, it is still This work is not happening.
the financial crisis will end
A former chairman of East Delhi Municipal Corporation told AnyTV that as long as all the three municipal corporations were one, the work of the entire municipal corporation was running smoothly. There was no shortage of funds to do any work, but ever since the municipal corporation has been divided into three parts, files have started getting stuck. Especially the work of East Delhi Municipal Corporation has been hampered as this corporation has very less means of income, whereas it has to do big work due to the large population.
However, the BJP leader did not comment on whether the Center is going to take a decision to merge the three municipal corporations. It is believed that the entire BJP is in favor of this and after discussing all the circumstances, the final decision on this will be taken soon. From this point of view, the meeting of Amit Shah on March 12 and the week after that is very important.
The decision was taken due to political reasons
According to a former chairman of the Standing Committee, the Sheila Dikshit government had bifurcated the Delhi Municipal Corporation into three parts for political reasons. The Congress had anticipated that this would enable it to retain its power in some of the three municipal corporations, but it did not happen. On the contrary, the Congress suffered more political losses. Along with this, permission has to be taken from different authorities for development work in different areas, which affects the work.

Of the total voter turnout of 53.58%, BJP got 36.08%, Aam Aadmi Party got 26.23% and Congress got 21.09% votes.
