new Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday approached the Delhi High Court seeking a special inquiry into the vandalism outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj approached the High Court seeking constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for an independent criminal probe into the incident that took place on Wednesday.
Around 70 people were detained for creating ruckus outside Kejriwal’s residence during a protest led by Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha over his recent remarks on the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ in the Delhi Assembly. Against Pandit’.
The protest, led by Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga and BJP Yuva Morcha national president Tejashwi Surya, began at around 10.30 am from IP College to the Chief Minister’s residence.
The protest turned violent around 1 pm when some protesters broke two barricades put up near the chief minister’s house and created a ruckus.
