Jaipur . Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a dialogue was organized by Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) on the book ‘Tumhe Bhool Chuk Hoon’ by poet Amit Goswami’s collection of Ghazals and Najms. This dialogue program was organized at JKK’s book club. During this, the poet Amit Goswami discussed about the inspiration behind his book and the beginning of writing poetry. Along with this, he also recited some of his poems and ghazals to the audience. He was in discussion with eminent writer Manisha Kulshrestha.
Talking about reading and understanding Urdu, Amit Goswami said that it is his father’s gift. His father Pt. Jash Karan Goswami was a lover of literature. He told that I have read and heard Ghalib since childhood. Learned more by listening and reading the nuances of Urdu. On the matter of writing Ghazals and Nazms, he said that I write by feeling. I wrote what I felt. I have read a lot of Najm and that is why it has become a medium.
Shri Goswami further said that I have always learned something from whomever I have read including Ghalib. During the dialogue, Shri Goswami wrote some of his poems and ghazals such as ‘I have forgotten you’; ‘You were not written in the lines of your hands’; ‘Now there is a newspaper-like happiness in his tone’; ‘Aate-aate reh gaya mujhe ko agreement’ etc. read out to the audience.
