New Delhi. The state has made a high leap in the liquor business in the country and the liquor industry is now emerging as a distillery hub. Along with this, the state is going to complete the century of distillery plant and soon the number of distilleries will be 98. 18 companies have invested in distilleries in the state, in which production has started in three distilleries. Apart from this, 15 companies have been given permission to set up distilleries and three more new companies are going to invest in the distillery industry soon. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has abolished the syndicate from the liquor industry in the last five years. Along with this, theft has been stopped by changing policies and creating a transparent system. Due to this, the excise revenue of the state has increased more than double and has increased from 17 thousand crores to 36 thousand crores. Distillery industry has become a business of more than one lakh 80 thousand crores. Due to which the distillery industry is also helping in achieving the goal of one trillion dollars. In the export of liquor, out of 10 major states of the country, UP has reached from fifth to third place. While Andhra Pradesh and Goa are left behind. In the last five years, an investment of nine thousand crore rupees has been made and more than 60 thousand people have got employment. Alcohol production has more than doubled and is likely to exceed 170 million bulk liters this year. Wine production has also more than doubled.
Production will start in 18 more distillery plants in one to three years
In the last five years, 19 distilleries have been set up in the state with an investment of five thousand crores. With this, the alcohol production capacity has increased from 170 crore liters to 282 crore bulk liters. 18 more distillery plants with an investment of more than four thousand crores will start production in one to three years. In the financial year 2021-22, liquor worth more than 167 crores and ethanol worth 3,537 crores have been exported from the state. Whereas five years ago exports were less.
First in the country in alcohol and ethanol production: Bhoosreddy
Additional Chief Secretary Excise Sanjay R Bhoosreddy informed that to promote industrial development in the state, extensive remedial work has been done, due to which investment in distillery and export of liquor has increased from the state. Now the state is at number one in the country in the production of alcohol and ethanol. It is our endeavor to complete the construction of distilleries and start production at the earliest, so that the state can also be number one in the export of liquor.
Radico Khaitan Distillery launches international brand
Due to the state government’s industrial policy, all-round development, law and order, international and national companies have started production of liquor by investing in the state, in which Parnad Ricard, Diageo, USS, William Grant, ABD and Alcobru are prominent. Radico Khaitan Distillery located in the state has launched an international class brand.
