Divya Bharti made her Bollywood debut in 1992 with the film Vishwatma. Although before that she had done some Telugu films. Her beauty and naivety used to draw people towards her. Her first successful film was ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’ opposite Govinda. Divya Bharti had attained superstar status within a few years of her debut.
On 5 April 1993, Divya, who breathed her last, died as a result of she had been married just a year earlier. When Divya Bharti was shooting for Shola and Shabnam, the film’s hero Govinda introduced her to director-producer Sajid Nadiadwala. At the age of 19, Divya converted to Islam to marry Sajid and became Sana Nadiadwala.
Many speculations were made behind Divya’s sudden death. After Divya’s death, it was also said that she used to take drugs. To which her mother had said that she did not take drugs, she had definitely drank rum on the day of the incident. Despite investigating for many years, the police could not reach Najeete and in 1998 this case was closed.
On the day of her death, Divya returned to Mumbai from Chennai after finishing shooting. He also had a leg injury. It would be around 10 o’clock in the night when some friends were visiting his house on the fifth floor of Tulsi Apartment located in Versova, West Andheri, Mumbai. All three were sitting and drinking alcohol. Divya’s maid Amrita was cooking food in the kitchen and Divya was giving instructions to eat while sitting at the nearby window.
