This was the reason behind Sammy rejecting PCB’s offer
Shane Watson was angry with this action of PCB
Karachi. Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and former West Indies captain Darren Sammy have rejected the offer to become the head coach of Pakistan. In such a situation, PCB’s search for a foreign coach is still not complete. Sammy told PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) that he is already contracted with the West Indies Board as the head coach of the limited overs team. Watson was upset that details of his proposed package were revealed in the Pakistani media and social media.
He returned home on Saturday night after rejecting the PCB’s proposal. A source with knowledge of this development said that senior PCB officials had detailed talks with Shane Watson in Karachi during the PSL matches and offered him the post of head coach.

Watson was angry with PCB for this
He said, ‘Watson had initially shown interest and had put forward some financial and other conditions to accept the proposal. After the board more or less accepted Watson’s financial demands, the former player was not happy that details of his proposed package were leaked to Pakistan media and social media. Watson then politely declined the offer, citing his prior commitments as a commentator in the IPL (Indian Premier League) and the Major Cricket League (USA). Along with this, he wants to give more time to his family in Sydney.
Watson was offered two million dollars annually
According to Pakistani media, PCB had agreed to pay Watson two million dollars (about 16.60 crore Indian rupees) annually. The board now wants to appoint a domestic coach on an interim basis for the five-match home T20 International series against New Zealand starting on April 14.
