New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday made new allegations of corruption against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). According to the central agency, a former chief engineer of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) had ‘transferred’ Rs 2 crore as bribe to his colleagues in the department and the ruling party in Delhi in the form of election donations. ED had made a similar allegation in a press release in February. He had said that the ‘bribe amount’ obtained through corruption in the DJB contract was ‘transferred’ to AAP in the form of election donations.
ED had recently issued summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the case, but he did not appear before the investigating agency. Meanwhile, AAP’s national convenor has been arrested by the ED in a money laundering case related to Delhi’s now scrapped excise policy and is currently in judicial custody. On March 21, CM was arrested by ED in this case. After completion of custody on April 1, Kejriwal was sent to Tihar Jail.
