New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 72 today. He holds the image of the tallest leader of today’s era in the country. There have been many strong leaders in the country, but Modi’s image is different from these. At the same time, he has also become such a leader of the country, who is also the most successful against the Congress which has ruled for the longest time. Modi had written the success story against the Congress from Gujarat itself. He became the CM of Gujarat for the first time in the year 2001. Then the 2002 riots took place there and the Congress opened a front against them. Big leaders of Congress talked about Modi like ‘Maut Ka Saudagar’ and ‘Khoon Ka Dalal’, but could not deter Modi. Despite all these attacks of Congress, Modi destroyed the Congress in Gujarat in 2002, 2007 and 2012 by forming the BJP government with a large majority.
After defeating the country’s oldest party in Gujarat, Modi moved to Delhi in 2013. Lok Sabha elections were to be held in 2014. Just before this, on 13 September 2013, the then BJP President and current Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced Modi as the PM candidate. Modi entered the fray. He flooded public meetings, tea discussions and rallies with the holographic technique. As a result, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP got 282 seats. The Congress could get less than 50 seats and its dream of forming the government at the Center for the third time was crushed. It took Modi 5 years to improve the condition of the country. Then came the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In this election, the Congress hoped that it would give Modi a slap, but under the leadership of Modi, the BJP wrote a new record of victory. BJP single-handedly captured 303 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Congress could win only 55 seats.
When Narendra Modi became the PM in 2014, at that time only 7 states of the country had BJP governments. After this, Modi’s face continued to be the only face of BJP in the assembly elections of every state. As a result, till 2018, BJP formed the government in 21 states of the country. Earlier, there was a record of having Congress government in 16 states. However, after that BJP also suffered losses in many elections. Yet he is still in government in 12 states on his own and in 4 states with alliances. Now assembly elections are to be held in Gujarat. There are assembly elections in many states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan next year and then Lok Sabha elections will be held in 2024. Obviously Modi will be the face of BJP in every election. Everyone’s eyes are on how many more pages are added to the achievements of Modi.
