Uttarakhand Chunav 2022: An excited Congress has become apprehensive as well as happy since the voting in Uttarakhand on February 14. Seeing the lack of majority in some exit polls, the party has changed its strategy in view of the fear of sabotage in the hung assembly or MLAs. Now preparing a backup plan and sending newly elected MLAs to Rajasthan is being considered. The party has called a meeting of all the veteran leaders, office bearers and candidates at the state Congress office on Tuesday.
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh, State President Ganesh Godiyal will be present in the meeting. Apart from this, state in-charge Devendra Yadav, chief election observer Mohan Prakash and the central leaders of the party will also attend the meeting. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel can also reach on Tuesday or Wednesday. According to sources, the meeting will also brainstorm on the strategy to keep the newly elected Congress MLAs safe.
Godiyal took a jibe at Vijayvargiya
State Congress President Ganesh Godiyal saw the exit poll on Monday evening at the state office, Rajiv Bhawan. He said that Congress is going to get a huge majority. Taking a jibe at BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya for camping in the state, he said the party may have to think about the security of its MLAs in view of the presence of a BJP leader notorious for sabotage.
Cancel postal ballots : Godiyal
Alleging misuse of postal ballot papers issued for the army and paramilitary forces, Godiyal demanded the cancellation of such votes. He has sent a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer expressing the possibility of such misuse in Kedarnath assembly constituency. In the letter, he said that such names exist in the list of postal ballots of service voters who have either retired or are on long leave or have died. The total number of postal ballot papers issued in Kedarnath assembly constituency is 3187. On inspection of this list, prima facie about 206 service voters have been found like this.
Big warning for democracy: Harish Rawat
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat also indicated that the Congress should be careful. In his post on internet media, he said that the arrival of a well-versed BJP leader of MLA buy campaign in Uttarakhand is a big warning. He said Congress is careful.
