Good news has emerged amid the farmers’ protest led by the United Kisan Morcha in Delhi. Actually, farmer leaders have come to hold a meeting with the delegation of Union Ministers. Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and United Kisan Morcha have some demands. Let us tell you that meanwhile, farmers organizations have announced to withdraw from the Delhi-Noida road route. Let us tell you that today heavy traffic was seen on the Delhi-Noida route throughout the day. Meanwhile, now the farmer leaders have come to meet the Union Ministers with a delegation.
What is the demand of farmers?
- MSP Guarantee Act should be made on the purchase of all crops. On the instructions of Dr. Swaminathan Commission, the prices of all crops should be fixed according to the C2+50% formula.
- The FRP and SAP of the carton should be given as per the Swaminathan Commission formula, making it a national authority for procurement of all spices including turmeric.
- Complete loan waiver for farmers and labourers.
- There should be justice in Lakhimpur Kheri murder case. Ajay Mishra should be dismissed from the cabinet and arrested. Ashish Mishra’s bail should be cancelled. All the accused should be dealt with appropriately.
- According to the agreement, a compensation of Rs 10 lakh should be given to the injured.
- All types of cases/prosecutions should be canceled during all movements across the country including Delhi Morcha.
- The families of farmers and laborers who were martyred during the movement should be compensated and given jobs.
- Space should be given for the martyrdom memorial of Kisan Morcha in Delhi.
- It was agreed during the Delhi Kisan Morcha on the Electricity Amendment Bill to privatize the power sector that it will not be implemented without taking the consumer into confidence, which is currently being implemented through the backdoor through ordinances. Should be cancelled.
- Agriculture sector should be kept out of pollution laws as promised.
- India should come out of WTO. Allowance should be increased to reduce import duty on agricultural commodities, milk products, fruits, vegetables and meat etc. Purchase crops of Indian farmers from abroad and on priority basis.
- A pension scheme of Rs 10,000 per month should be implemented for farmers and agricultural laborers above 58 years of age.
- Payment of insurance premium by the government itself to improve the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. Making all crops part of the plan and estimating the loss by considering the farm acre as a unit while assessing the loss.
- The Land Acquisition Act, 2013 should be implemented in the same manner and the instructions given by the Central Government to the States regarding land acquisition should be cancelled.
- Under MNREGA, employment should be provided for 200 days every year. Wages should be increased to Rs 700 per day and agriculture should be included in it.
- To improve the quality of seeds of all crops including cotton by amending the Pesticides, Seeds and Fertilizer Act and canceling licenses by imposing exemplary punishment and penalties on companies manufacturing and selling counterfeit and substandard products.
- Implementation of the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution.
