Chandrapur (Maharashtra). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday compared Congress to bitter gourd and said whether it is fried in ghee or mixed in sugar, it remains bitter. He blamed the country’s oldest party for all the problems facing the country. Addressing his first rally in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi termed the upcoming elections as a battle of ‘stability versus instability’ and said that on one hand the central government under his leadership is taking tough decisions in the interest of the country, while on the other hand the opposition alliance is The aim is to ‘get power and eat the cream’.
He termed the Shiv Sena faction led by former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as ‘fake’ and accused it of allying with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which is allegedly anti-Sanatan and talking about division of the country. PM Modi said, “The Lok Sabha elections of 2024 are an election between ‘stability versus instability’. On the one hand, there is the National Democratic Alliance under the leadership of BJP, whose aim is to take tough decisions, big decisions for the country. On the other hand, there is Congress and ‘Indi’ alliance, whose mantra is – wherever you get power, eat a lot of cream.”
He said, “Whether you fry bitter gourd in ghee or dissolve it in sugar, it still remains the bitterest of bitters. This saying applies exactly to Congress. Congress can never change.” PM Modi blamed Congress for all the problems facing the country and asked the crowd, “Who was responsible for dividing the country on the basis of religion? … Who is responsible for issues like Kashmir, Naxalism? Who was the person who created obstacles in the way of construction of Ram temple and questioned the existence of Lord Ram? Who rejected the invitation for Ram Mandir (inauguration)?”
In 2019, Chandrapur was the only parliamentary seat that Congress won. PM Modi said, “Today the Dalits, backward, tribal and poor of the country… consider the Modi government as their government. Modi did not become Prime Minister by being born in a royal family. Modi has come here by being born in a poor family, living among you.
PM Modi said the 138-year-old party has lost people’s support because of its actions and its recently released manifesto bears the imprint of the pro-partition Muslim League. He said, “Congress has been out of power for 10 years and we have been able to solve all the problems facing the country. There has been a huge decline in Naxalite incidents. Congress has been adopting a soft stance on terrorism for vote bank politics. “Even its manifesto has the imprint of the Muslim League.”
The Prime Minister has often been targeting the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (India) by calling it an ‘Indi’ alliance. He said that as long as the ‘Indi’ coalition government was at the centre, Maharashtra continued to be neglected. He said that whenever he saw any project related to the development of Maharashtra, he used to say either bring a ‘commission’ or put ‘brake’ on the work.
Referring to the statement of a Congress MP, PM Modi said that he talks about partition, while the people of ‘Indi’ alliance threaten to separate South India. He said, “DMK, which is part of the ‘Indi’ alliance, is talking about eliminating Sanatan by calling it dengue-malaria and the fake Shiv Sena members organize rallies of the same people in Maharashtra.”
Last month, a rally of ‘India’ alliance was held in Maharashtra. Congress, DMK and Shiv Sena (UBT) are its constituent parties. PM Modi said that his government has worked for the upliftment of the poor in the last 10 years. He said that the wood of Chandrapur was used for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and the new Parliament building in Delhi.
