Raipur (Naiduniya Representative). In the Gondwana Cup tennis tournament, Ishaq of Bengal won the double title and Sanjana of Telangana won the women’s singles. On the other hand, the pair of women’s doubles Vidula and Rituparna won the title. The final match of the tournament organized by Chhattisgarh Pradesh Tennis Association under the aegis of All India Tennis Association was played on Friday.
Competition in Union Club and Chhattisgarh Club
Competition was held in Union Club and Chhattisgarh Club. In the closing ceremony of the competition, the winners were rewarded by union working president Avtar Singh Juneja, general secretary Gurcharan Singh Hora, union club secretary Girish Agarwal, Raipur district Olympic association president Dr. Atul Shukla, senior player Kailash Dixit. Tournament coordinator Rupendra Singh Chauhan gave the information.
men’s singles
In the men’s singles final match, the tournament’s first seed Ishaq Iqbal Bengal won the final by defeating Dhruv Hirapura of Gujarat 6-0, 6-2 in a comfortable match.
men’s doubles
In the men’s doubles final, the pair of Ishaq Iqbal Bengal, Yash Yadav MP defeated Abhinanshu Borthakur Bengal and Mohd. Iftikhar defeated the Assam pair 6-2, 6-2.
women’s singles
Sanjana Srimala Telangana defeated Vidula Reddy Karnataka 6-1, 6-1 to enter the final.
women’s doubles final
Vidula Reddy and Rituparna Choudhary defeated the pair of Saravani Nag Lakshmi Chintapalli and Sanjana Srimala 7-5, 6-4 to win the winner’s title.
State’s Nandika got defeated in a thrilling match
State’s emerging player Nandika Agarwal became the runner-up in the Under-14 Girls’ Doubles of the All India Tennis Tournament held in Visakhapatnam. In the final, Nandika Agarwal combined with Nishika Gandham of Telangana lost 7-5, 6-4 to Manasvi Abbavaram and Hemja Titiparthy of Tamil Nadu in a struggling match to settle for the runner-up.
