New Delhi: The country is gearing up to face scorching heat in the next few months, with heat waves predicted to hit parts of the country between April and June. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted heat wave to continue till April 6 in different areas of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
The weather department has also predicted hot nights in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha for the rest of the week. The states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Odisha and Puducherry will have to face hot and humid weather conditions till April 6. IMD had earlier said that in many parts of the country, the maximum temperature is likely to be above normal from April to June, and there is a possibility of heat wave lasting for 10 to 20 days in different parts of the country.

According to the weather department, parts of Karnataka from Wednesday to Saturday, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal from Wednesday to Saturday; And there is a possibility of heat wave in Jharkhand from Thursday to Saturday. Let us tell you that if the maximum temperature reaches at least 40 degrees Celsius or more for plain areas and at least 30 degrees Celsius or more for hilly areas, then it is considered a heat wave.
Weather condition in other parts of the country
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at one or two places over Northeast India. Rain is possible in the Western Himalayas and snowfall in the high mountains during the next 2 to 3 days. Light rain activities are possible in Sikkim, Kerala and South Tamil Nadu. Heat wave conditions are possible in one or two areas of East Madhya Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Gangetic West Bengal. There is a possibility of hot night weather in different parts of Central Maharashtra and Marathwada.
