Panaji. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant attended the special screening of ‘The Kashmir Files’ on Monday. The film is produced by Vivek Agnihotri. On the other hand, Hindu groups are alleging that the management of Multi Complex is calling it housefull despite having vacant seats in theatres. Sawant was accompanied by his wife Sulakshana, other BJP officials and several members of the media at the special screening.
Sawant had tweeted late on Sunday night, “The painful story of pain, struggle, suffering of Kashmiri Hindus needs to be understood by everyone so that we can ensure that such history is not repeated. I have spoken to INOX management and the film will continue to be shown with maximum possible shows.”
Commenting on the uproar at the Margao branch of the multiplex in South Goa on Sunday, where members of several Hindu groups claimed they were not able to buy tickets for film screenings despite the hall being half-empty, the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Damu Naik said the issue has been resolved.
Naik said, “The issue got resolved and the number of shows increased. Strict instructions were given not to repeat mistakes. I will take appropriate decision to make it tax-free. Every true Indian must watch this film.”
