Now patients can get dialysis in two shifts in Base Hospital Srinagar Garhwal. Now patients coming from remote areas of Chamoli, Tehri, Pauri, Rudraprayag will be able to benefit from it. Full 12-hour dialysis facility has been started in Base Hospital Srinagar instead of six hours.
Let us tell you that the base hospital is the higher center of Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri of Srinagar Garhwal. Patients from far-flung rural areas come here for treatment. Dialysis patients earlier had to face difficulties in getting dialysis done. Due to dialysis being done only from 8 to 2 pm, many patients had to wait for several days. Had to move to the plains.
Dialysis will be done in two shifts
While giving information, Dr. Ajay Vikram, Medical Superintendent of Base Hospital, says that in view of the increasing number of patients, on the instructions of Dr. CMS Rawat, Principal of the Medical College, two shifts of patients undergoing dialysis have been started. Earlier, dialysis facility was available in the base hospital from 8 am to 2 pm, but now dialysis facility will be available to the patients in the second shift also from 2 pm to 8 pm. Patients from the hilly districts of Garhwal will be able to take benefit of this.
Increased convenience due to recruitment of nursing staff
Recently, due to increase in the number of employees from the permanent nursing staff appointed in the base hospital, dialysis facility has been started in two shifts. Dr. KS Butola, HOD of Dialysis Unit Medicine Department, said that since last month till now 69 patients People from different areas have reached here for dialysis.
Why do dialysis
When the kidneys fail or are no longer capable, dialysis is used to remove waste products and fluids other than blood from the body. This is a kind of treatment given for recovery after kidney failure or to keep the person alive. In government hospitals, a patient’s dialysis can be done for free to Rs 700, whereas in a private hospital, dialysis can cost between Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 and medicines and other equipment can cost up to Rs 5,000 per month.
